The Maze Runner

Movies have the ability to entertain as well as share propaganda and universal ideals. Popular series ‘The Maze Runner’ gives the audience an insight into freedom and confinement issues. In the movie, youth of all ages are dumped in a glade at the center of a labyrinth with no recollection of their previous life. As shown in the movie, everyone responds to the lack of freedom differently. Some adapted to it readily, thankful for the minuscule hospitality they were given. They found comfort in knowing they had food to eat, a place to sleep, and protection from the outside world. Others felt trapped and were ambitious to escape. They railed against the dystopian society every chance they could, in hopes for one day they could possess freedom. They patrolled the always changing maze to find an escape route.
